Guilin

One sleeper train and a short high-speed rail trip later and I had reached my next destination of Guilin. Unlike previous destinations, I didn’t have any must-see places to visit here but I had wanted to check out the Reed Flute Cave.  I had found this cave while trying to find the Xiaozhai Sinkhole before realizing it wasn’t a pit cave.

I didn’t have high hopes for the Reed Flute Cave but I had nothing else to do so I went anyway.  This is an ancient limestone cave with large formations.  However, I strongly dislike artificial influence and the spotlights, LED strips everywhere and bright exit signs made it overly fake.  I trailed far behind a tour group to explore on my own so it was a decent but short visit before my next scenic destination.
